Coteccons Brings Mid-Autumn Magic to Over 1,400 Children Through “Pick and Give the Moon to the Village”: Championing Compassionate Partnership with Local Communities
HO CHI MINH CITY – Coteccons, in partnership with accompanying organizations, has launched the 2026 edition of its annual community outreach program, “Pick and Give the Moon to the Village” (Hái trăng về làng), across multiple provinces and cities nationwide. More than 1,400 children took part in traditional Mid-Autumn festival activities, receiving meaningful gifts and educational scholarships tailored to each locality.
Entering its fifth consecutive year, “Pick and Give the Moon to the Village” continues to support children of frontline workers, orphans, children with disabilities, and underprivileged youth. The Coteccons team collaborates closely with local authorities, schools, and social welfare shelters to select venues and curate activities tailored to the children. This approach reflects how the initiative is purposefully carried out in places across the country where the company is executing its projects.
Standing Shoulder-to-Shoulder with Communities Across Project Footprints
In Ho Chi Minh City, the Site Management Board of the Can Gio Bridge project partnered with Le Quang Dinh Primary School in Nha Be Commune to host the program, following the recommendation of local authorities. According to the rollout plan, the event delivered festive gifts to students across the school and awarded scholarships to children in challenging circumstances.
At Binh Duong Ward (Ho Chi Minh City), member company Sinh Nam Façade organized “Pick and Give the Moon to the Village” for children of employees, engineers, and site workers alongside their parents. On this occasion, “Building Foundations for Dreams” (Xây Nền Ước Mơ) scholarships were also conferred to students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance.
At the SOS Children's Village in Ben Tre, Coteccons returned to host Mid-Autumn festivities featuring folk games, interactive activities, gift distributions, and scholarships. Returning to this shelter year after year allows the Coteccons team to sustain an enduring bond with the children, rather than simply visiting for a one-off holiday.
Mr. Nguyen Van Bay, Director of SOS Children’s Village Ben Tre, shared: “Coteccons' support goes far beyond material gifts or scholarship funds; it lies in the genuine, natural interaction that erases all boundaries between corporate staff, the outside community, and the children here. Being embraced, heard, and welcomed on equal footing brings the greatest joy to the children, giving them the confidence to step forward into life.”
In Hai Phong, the Site Management Board of the GE Vernova project collaborated with SOS Children’s Village Hai Phong to host festivities for children living under their care. In Bac Ninh, the Site Management Board of the Gia Binh International Airport project visited, engaged with, and prepared Mid-Autumn gift sets for children at the Huong La Shelter for Disabled Children.
In Da Nang, “Pick and Give the Moon to the Village” was integrated with the “Building Foundations for Dreams” scholarship initiative, granting over 100 scholarships to children of municipal sanitation and urban drainage workers, creating an uplifting playground that celebrates and fuels their learning aspirations.
Living the Philosophy: “Wherever Coteccons Goes, It will be Greener and Better”
At each destination, this year’s “Pick and Give the Moon to the Village” was customized into diverse formats suitable for each locality, including cultural performances, traditional games, lantern-making workshops, festive banquet feasts, and the distribution of gifts and scholarships. Beyond child-centric activities, the program created an inviting space for parents, workers, and Coteccons teams to gather, fostering an authentic and heartwarming Mid-Autumn celebration within the host communities.
This year’s program was further bolstered by the joint efforts of Fastlink Uniform Fashion Connection JSC, Thien Ha Phat Construction Trading Co., Ltd., Hong Son Mechanical Services Trading Co., Ltd., and Hoang Long Stone Development Co., Ltd., mobilizing collaborative resources to broaden the program's nationwide footprint.
After five editions, “Pick and Give the Moon to the Village” has transcended a festive gathering for workers’ children. It has extended its embrace to SOS villages, special education centers, and vulnerable neighborhoods surrounding construction sites. Operating across multiple localities empowers local project units to tailor their support directly to real needs and real situations, avoiding a rigid, one-size-fits-all model.
Ms. Nguyen Trinh Thuy Trang, Deputy CEO, Chief Operating Officer at Coteccons, reflected: “Coteccons has always believed that wherever we operate, our presence should deliver more than just another concrete landmark, it should bring genuine empathy and care to the surrounding community. 'Pick and Give the Moon to the Village' begins with a few simple, heartfelt gestures: a festive evening, a gift basket, or a scholarship. Yet what we cherish most is the deep human connection nurtured year after year between Coteccons and the communities we touch.”
Moving forward, Coteccons will continue to execute localized community initiatives across its operational footprints, closely aligning with local stakeholders and addressing practical community needs—reaffirming our enduring commitment: “Wherever Coteccons goes, it will be greener and better.”
